Bidwell West

It's all about community...

Bidwell West is a large new housing development in Bedfordshire on the outskirts of Houghton Regis, near Dunstable. Eventually there will be around 1850 properties on this site with community provision including a primary school, retail, community centre, sport fields and allotments. HRCDC is present on the development with a pioneer community worker living and working there and partnering with residents in a number of activities and events. 

We are also working on, ‘the guide’, an online, interactive welcome pack for residents to explore local provision, groups, and places of interest. You can explore the listings below, and submit your own recommendations here!

Pioneer Community Worker

TIm Haines was appointed as the pioneer community worker at Bidwell West in March 2021. As a resident living on the chalk fields site of the development, he is passionate about people, wellbeing and baking! You can connect with him below.

Community Association

One of the great things about Bidwell West is the people! As new residents arrive our community is being established. From welcoming neighbours to sharing information, it is each other that makes Bidwell West what it is! We are in the early stages of establishing a Community Association to better represent residents voices, we would love for you to be involved!

Activities & Events

As we listen to residents, we recognise there are things which would help nurture community in Bidwell West. Anything we can do to facilitate this we are keen to hear! We are currently working on an outdoor, pop-up baby and toddler group on the green spaces around the development and some seasonal community events. Watch this space!
